French Documentary showcase

November is the documentary month in France, therefore the Alliance Française Auckland is proud to introduce you 3 different French documentary films at the Auckland Central Library, Lorne Street, every Friday over 3 weeks: Swagger, Des femmes et des hommes (Women and men), Il était une forêt (Once upon a forest). FREE EVENT!

Swagger transports us in the head of eleven children and teenagers of surprising personalities. These children grow up in the heart of the most disadvantaged cities of France. The movie shows us the world through their singular and unexpected looks, their funny and impactful reflections.

Luc Jacquet guides the spectator for a walk in the equatorial forest, off the beaten tracks. He teaches us how important it is to keep your eyes open to discover the first seed grow, how to contemplate the first trees which are preparing the soil for their followers. Five decades later, the new trees take over the complete cycle of several centuries…
