Ready to experience a classical music concert with a French group in an exceptional venue?
Not to be outshone by the Olympian sportspeople, a group of Parisian musicians are embarking on a marathon tour around New
Zealand: 14 concerts in just 18 days - with a date in Auckland on Monday, 11th of November.
The Paris Chamber Players are a chamber music ensemble based in Paris, composed of professional musicians.
They are dedicated to performing classical works in various venues, including churches and other unique spaces.
A delightfully classical programme from the early 19th century, featuring the Beethoven Septet (7 players)
and the Schubert Octet, (8 players) rarely presented together, and featuring instruments that
almost make a mini orchestra.

A French group composed of 8 professional musicians:

2nd violin: Agnès Reverdy
Viola: Mark Oremland
Cello: Myriam Teillagorry
Double bass: Bernard Lanaspèze
Clarinet: Saori Kurimoto
Horn: Antoine Degremont

This ensemble is quite unique in the world – for over 50 years (under the name of its sister entity the Heidelberg Chamber
Orchestra) it has been taking beautiful chamber music of the 17th and 18th centuries to thousands of people all over the world, – ordinary
people in simple settings, almost entirely self-sufficient.
Their repertoire mainly features classics from the 17th and 18th centuries, with occasionally more recent
works. Alongside the well-known favorites of Vivaldi, Mozart, and Bach, there are also works by Corelli, Telemann, Albinoni, and Marcello,
to name just a few.
The history of the group :
It all began in the 50s and 60s when the founder, Dr. Klaus Preis, started organizing musical evenings in the student
community of Heidelberg (Germany).
Little by little, the adventure grew with tours across Europe and beyond, including a world tour every two years. This
boundless energy led to some years with as many as 370 concerts!
Some of the musicians who played with him over the years have taken up the mantle, and the Paris Chamber Players are one of
the heirs of the Heidelberg Chamber Orchestra!
