NEW CALEDONIA SHORT FILM FESTIVAL

Come join us for this year's New Caledonia Short Film Festival - There will be 5 short films to showcase this year. Upong your arrival, enjoy small nibbles and a glass of punch!

We're excited to present a diverse selection of short films and a music video, showcasing both historical and contemporary narratives:

  • 1878 (Aurélia Raoull): A historical short film that captures the early years of colonization through the eyes of a young Kanak girl taken in by a religious figure. RATED M
  • Mauvaise Pioche (Christophe Martin): This historical short film follows convicts attempting to escape from a penal colony, highlighting their struggle for freedom. RATED M
  • Bereziina (Anthony Pedulla): A contemporary short film exploring how dance bridges the gap between modernity and tradition. RATED PG
  • Banian (Jeanne Vassard): A music video that delves into the myths surrounding the sacred "banian" tree, blending visual storytelling with evocative music. RATED G
  • L’Abbé Noir (Stéphane Ducandas): A quirky short film that merges history, absurdity, and slam poetry, experimenting with various cinematic styles like silent film, Charlie Chaplin-esque comedy, expressionism, and social commentary. RATED PG
